RachelThe NSW Department of Transport refuses to place submissions to the NSW Freight and Ports Strategy on its website but there some available on the internet.

The first is from Regional Development Australia. Well worth a read as it covers discussion from a forum held in February which was well attended  by a wide range of stakeholders including the Police Commander from Botany Command,  Rail expert Philip Laird, Barry Murphy a former Chair of the ARTC, Liesbet Spanjard (who assisted Laurie Brereton with the Railing Port Botany Containers 2005 report),Director of Planning and Community Services Sima Truuvert and Karen Armstrong the Head of Strategic Planning both from Randwick City Council, local Federal Candidate Michael Feneley, Chair of Matraville Precinct Ross Salter, Adem Long  from Sydney Ports.   There was agreement that Sydney Airport needed to be factored into the Strategy (it hasn’t been)  as well as a second airport (it hasn’t been) and importantly the planning horizon had to extend well beyond 20 years.
